Keeper Magazine
Issue 10 - December 2003

Issue Ten features a total of 99 pages from the “extreme reaches of the underground” — our second issue with that masthead on the cover representing a shift from “California’s Only All Metal Magazine” toward covering more hardcore, metal-core, and underground heaviness outside of the metal genre. The Top 10 of 2003 list is a really enjoyable little time capsule to come back to and I love how it manages to show everyone of the staff’s different tastes and areas of expertise. The design of Issue 10 features more double-page spreads than any previous issues and our printer was able to handle them well. The design elements for the hardcore bands coverage makes the magazine a little more varied and diverse overall and I think the Every Time I Die and Some Girls pages stand up as solid design work all these years later. I wish I knew what happened with Jeff Easton’s interview with KMFDM… it looks like the text containers were corrupted and we lost some of the interview. Sorry Jeff! At least his interview with the one and only SLAYER remained intact or I would probably have ended up with my head on a pike!
